LANDFORMS
The Bahamas are a group of nearly 700 ring-like coral islands, and small, low islands composed largly of coral and sand. The islands were mostly created by the disintegration of coral reefs and seashells, and low scrub covers much of their surfaces. The highest point is located on Cat Island, where limestone rock rises to 63 meters or 206 feet above sea level. There are a handful of small freshwater lakes and just one small river located on Andros Island.
The Bahamas have no mountains, mostly everything is formed by coral. The highest point in the Bahamas is 63 meters high. The Bahamas are flat, and are composed of archipelago. The Bahamas nick-name is the Chain of Islands.
